22 degree Sun Halo

Nice evening here, and a nice halo too!

Whats nice about this, I just set the camera on 'Sunny Day' mode and had a pop at it, and voilà it worked without me blocking the sun!

What sort of camera did you use? I can never get a picture like that without getting a black hole in the sun (crikey that sounds serious)!! I attribute this to the sensor chip being overloaded with too much light??? Its only a compact (Ixus 500) but is there anyway of overcoming this and producing pictures like yours??

Its a Finepix S6500fd, I think they call them bridge cameras?
