Solartastic Sunday - 18th September

For once the weather forecast was right today - they promised a 'glorious' end to the day. It took till about 5 o'clock before it had cleared for long enough to get the 6 panes I need for a full disk. I was initially wary, the view from the DMK on the laptop screen seemed rather wobbly, and lacking in the contrast I know is possible on the best of days - the sun is getting low very quiclky as we approach the equinox. However as the first panes started to come out of avistack I knew it wasn't as bad as I first thought.

Todays sun is another solartastic day - oodles of things going on - filaments, spots, active regions, filaproms... The only thing you could say was missing is large proms; there were plenty of ickle ones...
