Dead pixels or dust on the sensor?

Took a sample shot of a pylon with a DSi 1 I picked up recently (the top left picture). Are these dead pixels or dust on the chip/sensor?

If it's dust, what is the best way to clean it please?

For comparison, I also took a shot with my Astronomiser modded SPC900 and and oridinary SPC900 (in that order). Around 10 frames each.

Looks like dust bunnies to me. I'd try a rocket blower first and if that fails do a proper sensor clean using Pecpads and Eclipse fluid.

Can dedicated astrophotography CCD's hot pixels be remapped?

DSLR's hot pixels can be force remapped by performing a "manual clean" cycle in the firmware for 60 seconds or so repeatedly.
