black plastic

Some time ago I read a thread on Stargazers lounge regarding a black plastic that had been used to make various items on a lathe or machine mill.

But no matter how hard I search I can not find what it was call,

Hi mattifor . I think the material you are looking for is Delrin . Several suppliers can be found on eBay . Amongst the many uses it is in regular use for webcam adapters ( when the M12 lens is removed for imaging ). Hope this helps.

It's Acetal that you're looking for. Delrin is the same thing.

You can often find some of it on eBay cheaper, but this supplier has every different size imaginable as well as a lot of other plastics and PTFE (Teflon).
