Goto Slightly off

I've been having trouble with my Celestron goto beign slightly off, as the sky's are clear tonight i thought factory reset it and do three star align and guess what....now targets are completly bang on! Just goes to show the obvious is often the solution!

Congratulations on fixing the problem which is very satisfying if you can sort it out by yourself but I guess more importantly, you can now get out there and use it. Any idea what the problem was?

No idea James, it just would normally fall short of the target with a 25mm in so just on the edge of the FOV. I did a complete factory reset cleared out the backlash settings run it up to 90 degrees back down level again then sky aligned with 3 stars and it just worked. I switched it off, back on again, re-aligned and still spot on. Maybe its the dreaded Chinese grease has changed its consistency, I think I need to strip it down and re-grease with something better but maybe after the winter :-).
