NGC 7380 Learning Slowly!

Hi All,

NGC 7380 in Ha. Only 6 x 600 sec exposures. Most of my images are short duration at the moment in order to build up my skills. This is my 1st image using 10 min exposures to see how my guiding is going. The stars seem pretty round and the graph in PHD is as flat as a pancake so, 15 min next, followed by 20 min exposures. The focussing isn't that good but have realised part of the problem is the focussing tube on the ED80 does not like the weight of the Atik + the filterwheel - time to upgrade the focusser!

I think your guiding is very much sorted with that result from 10min exposures. Well done!

Not sure on the brightness here?

I have re-stacked using AA5 (first time use) rather than DSS - what is the better of the 2 images, this or the one in my first post?
