I have been planning to return to the spot where I shot, "The Red and the Blue" to experiment with new ideas, techniques and hopefully have a clearer sky. My patience was rewarded last night with excellent seeing and a whole night to devote to getting it right!

I have been wanting to experiment with astro-background/industrial foreground type images for a while... but haven't worked out the best way to achieve it...

I assume this is a single long (tracked?) exposure with the flash to illuminate the foreground at the some point during the exposure?

Not tracked mate. A single 30 second exposure and some home-made lighting.

Edit: Iteration #2 of, "Grand Design Revealed" with a variation on lighting and colour. Each to their own taste.
