Help using K3CCD

Downloaded the programme last week and got a webcam off a mate for free (its a Logitech quickcam) going to try before i buy a better cam. So i install the webcam and can see the recording when i start it up. So i open K3CCD and no matter where i look or what i push i cant see an image. I am being really daft and missing something or is there something i need to do in the settings for K3 or the camera itself?

Have you selected "Windows WDM" and your webcam (and select "preview") in the Video Capture menu?

Thats part of the issue, i press on the video source option and no menu appears, when i press preview i also get no image.

K3CCD is a bit flakey with my Logitech camera, try Open Capture and see if that works.

Sometimes with K3CCd , make sure the camera is plugged in BEFORE you turn on the software,under File click on WDM, and look for your camera in the list, then tick it, you should now be able to open the video capture drop down.

Also try selecting the wrong sort of camera. Go for a Twain or something, then when it complains go back to the correct type and your camera should be there.

I have NO WDM option under the file menu, i cant find a list of camera's anywhere

Should be under the second tab along, video capture, the top item video source. Click that then find your camera there. If it's not there check in Windows control panel, hardware bit, to see if its listed and described as working correctly.

There must be a problem with the programme as i have installed Open Capture as GazOC suggested and when i open that the camera is working fine. When i press the Video source option in K3CCD nothing happens at all!

Ignore me, just removed the programme and re-installed and all is working fine. Thanks
