Setting Circles

Any advice for using setting circles, specifically on HEQ5 mount?

I have never used them and have no clue how to set them up correctly.

I wouldn't bother with them - they are too small to be of any real use. The "locks" on them don't work too well either!

If you must use them then set your scope to an easy object, say Vega (which is well placed at the moment) and then set the circles to Vega's RA and Dec (RA 18h37m Dec: +38°48'). Lock them and you will be able to move the scope to the next object using the circles. It may be enough to get objects in the field of view of a very low power eyepiece.

As above, never used mine, just setting the scope to "home" using them was hard work, as he said above the locks on them dont work very well.
