A night of double stars

Recommended Posts

Last night was clear and transparent so I continued with my viewing of the Coldfield Observatory top 200 double star list.

My 4" Astro Tech APO frac is great with doubles so I used this scope with my 3-6mm Nagler.

To support my observing I used the Cambridge Double star atlas and the book by Sissy Haas which gives data information on 2500 doubles.

Viewed 16 double star systems mainly in Draco and Ophiuchus. Even though the Moon was bright I could easily find the doubles - the Cambridge atlas is very good.

The Nagler zoom makes double star viewing a real pleasure.
