polar scope

Ok this may sound a bit silly!!!! When using polar finder, do you use the telescope view or the other one? I assume telescope view is correct, but i installed the iphone app and it offers 2 views as per the polar finder, PUT ME OUT MY MISERY

Your post is a bit vague.. if you mean when using the polar finder software then no you use the polar scope fitted inside most EQ mounts. You also haven't stated what telescope you are trying to set up, and that can make a difference as to how you align it. For example a fork mount is aligned differently to a german EQ mount.

You use telescope view - i.e. if Polaris is in transit (above the north celestial pole) then it will be at the bottom of the view through your polarscope (i.e. inverted).
