Baader fluid makes it worse?!

Ok,

I've had enough at attempting to clean eyepieces....

everyone seems to have a different approach.

I just used some baader fluid with the "wonder cloth" after using a air pump to remove any loose dust and now the eyepiece looks even worse?

what the heck am i doing wrong?

my process:

Air on the eyepiece

spraying some fluid on the cloth and very very gently wiping the lens...

Your method sounds fine, and I'm surprised it doesn't seem to be having the desired effect.

What is the cause of the dirt? If it is fingerprints or other greasy residue, I have experienced it's necessary to do a few cleans to get off all the grease.

Oh, I love that Baader cleaning article: "urine acid", eh?!

My mrs came to the rescue... she managed to work her magic and now they are looking like new. you were bang on Andrew, it just needed a couple more goes.

it was heavy dusty... i was out on salisbury plain when a car came by at speed. dust *everywhere*.

Ugh, I can imagine... I wonder if they have strict speed restrictions, like white light restrictions, at desert star parties in USA.

After your method breath on the EP to mist it up and wipe with a dry clean piece of the cloth. Works for me.
