qhy5 guide cam

Hi all, on a C8NGT scope does the guide cam get connected to the bottom of the handset or the port on the mount?? On my spc900 webcam I connected to the handset and wondered if this cam was the same

I'd have thought that you would connect it to the Autoguide

port on the mount David ?

The QHY5 and a webcam are totally different things. They can both work over USB with say PHD Guiding with the handset connection but only the QHY5 has a dedicated ST4 guide port connection direct to a mount.

Think you need to do some Googling!

Good luck. The QHY5 is a good guide camera. My first answer may have been a bit short. Look for something along the lines of....

Option 1

QHY5 ST4 port to ST4 port on mount.

QHY5 USB to PC USB.

PC running PHD Guiding.

Option2

PC USB-232 to hand controller.

QHY5 USB to PC USB.

PC running PHD Guiding.
