Bahtinov Mask

I have just bought a Bahtinov focus mask but I cannot see how it fits on the end of my 8inch Newt. It has 2 holes with 2 threaded screws but there are no holes on the end of the scope for the screws to go. I am probably being dumb, can someone enlighten me!

Blutac, velcro or sticky back plastic are common methods. Two threaded screws are not very useful but three set equally round the rim can also used to locate the mask on the tube end.

Just put the screws in the holes and hang it over the end of the OTA...

Wow thats not very good way of fixing it, screws seem pointless!

lol did ya order the right size and model one for your scope i made one it cost me 4.50 i had to make a cardboard ring that went round the end of the scope so it could sit in place it only needs to be on for a few secs once you have focus get some blue tack on it once i have focus its of and let the pics begin hope you get it sorted in the end

Just put the screws in the holes and hang it over the end of the OTA...

That is how they are fitted. Quick, easy, simple and functional

i never thought to drill a few hole in and drop couple a screws in i am drilling as i speak
