HEQ5 Strip down to re grease

You can see im on a nightshift for the next month with a deluge of questions. I think I recall seeing something that gave advice with pics on how to remove the gunk grease from the heq5 and renew it, can anyone point me in the right direction please as I have daylight time on my hands to do the job. Thanks.

If your HEQ5 is a modern version there is no need to re-grease. Synta got the hint and started using decent grease. I believe ALL the GOTO versions have good grease but I could be wrong.

Hi Gordon, the grease I have indise the cogs is white, very sticky but not the black stuff people have commented on.

Sounds like low temperature lithium grease. Unless you're having problems with it I would leave it alone to be honest.
