New Telescope dilemma

Recommended Posts

After the theft of my last scope (LX90 8") I've been on binos for the last few years, now I have the opportunity to get a new toy.

I've narrowed it down to Celestron 9.25 or 11" either cpc mount or the CG5-EQ. I'm leaning towards the CG5 as it will be far more versatile. Anybody have anything to say about the two choices ?

Another question is does anyone know of anywhere either in the UK or US that will ship to France for a reasonable cost ? I have found a few scopes but when I enquire as to shipping the reply is 'we don't ship to europe' or a totally astronomical figure.

Or there is this

The price is ok but would I be wanting bigger apeture after a few months ?

I'll be mainly doing imaging.

Thanks

How about Telescope Service in Germany? They ship Europe wide and have the Celestron models you are interested in. The shipping costs are little high but not astronomical.

Also, it could be First Light Optics (forum sponsor) ship to Europe.

Btw i'm not sure i would want a C11 on a CG5 mount......wobbly springs to mind.
