Split eye piece for camera

Recommended Posts

Good morning all.

I read somewhere that you can get a split eye piece holder but I cannot find it again.

I have looked on various web sites but to no avail.

What I want to do is set up my web cam so I do not have to keep removing it from the scope to use normal EP's as it is a pain to set up again. It never sems to be centered in the holder.

By having a split holder I can then set up the camera once and for all so it captures what is in the FOV.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks

Graham

You may be thinking of a flip mirror arrangement - the webcam being set up on one side and the eyepiece used on the other....

Not sure it would work if your scope is a reflector - they need about 55-60mm back focus.

Morning Bunnygold.

Thanks for the link.

That is the sort of thing but it is for a normal camera.

I need one for my SPC 900 so it needs to be 1.25" both ways.

The one I read up on is like a 45 degree EP holder but it has a mirror inside so you can flip between the 2 Ep holders.

I know that is as clear as mud but I cannot discribe it any other way.
