Monitor Calibration

Recommended Posts

It has become obvious that my monitor needs calibrating....so what do you lot use to do this. I've tried various bits off the web and have various results. i.e. astro pics look ok - rest of desktop looks awfull but mostly the other way round. HELP!

I have struggled through exactly like you with freebies from the net - no use at all.

I ended up buying a hardware calibrator off fleabay. I cam to the conclusion that there was mainly a choice of Pantone, Spyder or X-rite. The latter came up first and I bought it.

I can't comment on the others but the X-rite had better reviews and the software works well. It gives a much better color calibration on my dual monitor setup but they are still slightly different whereas before they were vastly different.

Conclusion - not perfect but much better than doing it by eye.
