One phone, one moon, one planet... not bad

Images taken with my phone... a new hobby of mine as its so much less "faff" than the webcam especially as I have a manual mount (see sig).

The moon images was through a x2 barlowed 16mm eye piece and saturn was through a x2 barlowed 5mm eye piece. Images were adjusted slightly for brightness and contrast in shotwell image viewer.

Blimey, the Saturn pic is better than what I managed with my webcam last night, and the moon is great too!!

What kind of phone are you using and how far from the eyepiece do you hold it etc.??

Wow that is extra-ordinary. I have the same scope (and it is brilliant), but I didn’t know it could get images that good. Can’t wait to try myself. Again, super images:D

@Trickytree - its a 5mp camera on the back of an HTC desire. I get the best results by switching it to black and white and as far as the distance i hold it from the eye piece... its kinda trial and error. Just what ever works . It can take a while though, but its kinda fun.
