Hello All,

I currently have a Celestron 150mm Newt on a CG-4 Eq Mount. Can this mount take a larger OTA I was wondereing, if and when I decided to increase aperture? Thanks

Bart

I think 6" is about it's limit to be honest for short tube scopes. 4" for longer tube ones. Perhaps a little more if yours has the 1.5" / 1.75" steel tube tripod legs but not a lot.

I've seen 8" newtonians and 4.7" F/8 refractors on them and they are too much for the mounts.
