Caught the start of a lift-off at 15.30 UK time. Fast ejection of material initially, and it looks like there's plenty of action to come!

Are the darker 'lines' within the disc, and edge on view of a filament? I take it a filament is the wisp of material coming off the edge of the Sun...is that right?

Yes, a filament (a line on the disc) is simply a prominence seen away from the limb. This can be seen sometimes when one turns into the other...
