First (Ha) light for Canon 5D

Hi all,

I got hold of a 2nd-hand Single-stacked Lunt 60mm Ha scope last weekend and have been out enjoying the sun today (in more ways than one!) This makes such a pleasant change from being out in the cold at 3am!

Here's my first attempt at a Ha image using my (unmodded and unbarlowed) Canon. This is from a highly processed single-shot RAW image. Quite pleased how it turned out - I've not been able to get anything half as decent out of stacking the H.264 encoded videos. Tomorrow, if the skies stays as they are, I'll try the webcam route that seems most popular (or the QHY5).

I like the colours! I go with something similar myself. Always been curious what result a Canon would get with h-a signals so that was interesting to see.

Very pleasant image. Impressed with the focussing from a DSLR on the filaments. Look forward to your 'webcam' results.
