Adamski
I've had my 150pl for 3 months now and i'm finding that it's getting dust on the primary mirror, even tho i store it with the end cap on.I think it's dust from the air in my area as i live 2 miles from a china clay works so when it's dry there's dust floating about. if i blow air across the mirror will it be safe or will it damage it? It needs cleaning at some point but i don't know how to do it. Any advice would be very helpful.cheers.Adamski:icon_scratch:
lw24
Whatever you do, don't blow it. Your breath contains moisture, and this will damage the mirror.Generally, trying to clean a mirror does more harm than good, so normally I would advise you to leave it well alone.Visual performance is only affected if approximately 15% of the mirror is covered in dust, which is quite a large amount. swamp thing
HiIf your scope is only 3 months old the mirror won't need cleaning.A mirror can look pretty filthy and its performance will not be affected. As lw24 said Don't blow it just leave it alone.Regards Steve
