  1. Hi all i have an edge 8 hd which i am trying to get ready for first light. Does anyone know if i can fit a crayford focuser to my Edge and if i can will it affect my backfocus. second question (sorry relative newby) would i put my reducer telescope side of the crayford or camera side. Thinking about this a little more looks like this wont work. Any ideas
  2. Hi all just wondered what everyone is using for there imaging software? i use Voyager, I previously used Nina but i had a few issues with it hanging in the meridian flip overnight.
  3. Thanks mate, I live in Brockworth. Think we come under Tewksbury council so will see if there is an equivalent. thanks for reaching out. Stu
  4. Hello all. i have a northerly facing garden which means i get relatively clear views of the northern sky. my only issue is that i have a streetlight which is overlooking the east side of my garden and blocks everything out to the east and south. Its not the light itself but the glare that comes off it. the pesky light in question is an LED thing which looks brighter than the sun. i have tried using filters but still to no avail it beats me. just wondered if there is any tried and tested method to beat these pesky street illuminators.
  5. Think im really lucky. I have 5 scopes in total and my wife hasnt yet questioned me. im definately getting to the point now though where i am getting concerned how it appears when the DPD man delivers another box from FLO. the "may contain clouds" sticker is a familiar scene in our house. the problem seems to be that when you think you have everything you need these damn pesky manufacturers produce even shinier things to buy. Probably need a collective self help group to not keep buying ha ha
  6. i think we are all in that position. im scared to think what the cost per completed image is. and i keep saying to myself that i now have enough and this is the pile of scopes which will see me through the next ten years.

  8. HI all Hope everyone is well. My name is Stuart and from Gloucester. Im in my third year in the hobby and still getting through the steep learning curve. i have managed to accumulate a number of scopes and have not found my favourite as yet. my scopes are Edge 8 HD (had nearly a year and not managed first light due to being unable to collimate) Askar 107 PHQ (lovely scope and so easy to setup and use) Askar FMA 230 (my widefield) Skymax 180 (my planetary and lunar setup) Skywatcher ED80 with Daystar quark for solar. looking forward to being part of the community. And i apologise for the stupid questions 🙂
  9. HI Chrissy. welcome from Gloucester also. stu
