  1. Some others from this past week. The star field is centered on the Ring Nebula. Tiny, but it showed up under heavy light pollution 30km from downtown Chicago, Bortle 8/9. I think this is a stack of 50 x 3 sec exposures. PS - I love that I can post 1GB of attachments instead of the 50kb or whatever limit on Cloudy Nights...
  2. I am way behind the times, but here are my Dwarf 2 pix from the total eclipse, in Sparta, Illinois, USA on April 8th, 2024. It is a fantastic little scope.
  3. I lurk around mostly elsewhere, but also here now and then (haven't posted much here, if at all). The SV127 is the scope I would like to purchase in the coming years. There is a nice review of it in the March 2023 issue of Sky & Telescope, and 127mm is still a manageable size. For myself, scopes are inversely proportional to age. When you can move them, you can't afford them, and when you can afford them, you can't move them. If you look hard enough at anything, you WILL find something to be worried about. Amateur astronomy is definitely not for the perfectionist. Cheers, from Chicago
  4. I've ordered through AliExpress many times, never a problem. Just pre-ordered one of these today. They state free return for up to 15 days of receipt.
  5. My best guess is an Intes 150mm Maksutov-Newtonian. Here is a description of the Orion branded version, made by Intes. http://www.company7.com/orion/catadioptric/argo6.html Also, this thread from SGL:
