Fwiw, when i was using the C11 i had a custom heater band placed around the front cell and a shield, never once had a problem with dew again.

If it's a Celestron I use their custom dew heater rings which replace the ring sitting on the outer edge of the corrector plate. Works wonders, removed the dewed over plate in less than five minutes, combined with a dew shield didn't dew over again.
Are you able to throw some light my way...
Ive bought one of the celestron heater ring to work with my Kendrick controller but my plugs are in the opposite position to images on the manual pdf. I dont want to blow it 😉
So plse confirm which is the "power socket" -
Cheers folks

I remember umming and arghing over the very same issue for quite a while before I plumbed for the 11"- I thought that since I was going to have to upgrade from HEQ5 pro to the 6 I might as well get the largest aperture I could comfortably get away with ( mount too !!), and for very little more money too . An extra 1.75" is still a lot of extra light incoming

Thanks guys !!

Sorry Malc, yes that's the mod I'm preparing tho I'll try it without the mod first ( next hour).BTW is it critical which way a resistor is arranged and if so (guessing it is) how do you know ??
Many Thanks in advance
-
Am I right in saying the white wire & right leg are soldered to the resistor prior to the board ?
I think the reflections and resolution are responsible for raising doubts
-
Beamish, trust me I have every confidence you can do this... If you get stuck I'm sure I have stacks of those transistors laying around in my hobby box and could post a few plus the resistors off to you - just drop me a PM if Maplin let you down...
Hya Malc ,I'm about to attempt this mod however I'm a little unsure about the connection arrangement for the resistor & transistor to the WHITE TX wire. Are you able to clarify the arrangement ?

Thanks Dave !

My 3.3v usb TTL chip arrived the other day from Asia, so where can I find the driver ?
the other bits have already arrived and I'm hoping to get time to put it altogether in the next day or so
-
no harm in giving it a whirl
mind the tronisoft 5v ftdi is cheaper then when I first bought one for the HEQ5 (plus del =£20+ )
-
Cheers bud, just ordered them and a few spares from Bitsbox
-
Thank you very much Dave, that last line makes no sense to me tho but at least I know what to get and how to put them together !
-
sorry to be a pain but , I know I can get the transistor from Maplins but exactly which resistor ought I be asking for ??
-
Okay, can you please confirm the additional parts for me
-
umm, bottom line is will Dave's original work ok for 3m or less of cable ? I don't wish to start adding transistors or owt else to it once it arrives cos I don't know what I'm doing- it needs to be a "dummies" version for some of us

DAve,
firstly, nice to see you posting again , feels like you've not been around ,here or UKAI for a while and secondly, -superb and just what I was thinking about getting

Hi sbooder, im thinking of doing the thumbscrew mod, what size thumbscrews do I need?
Thanks

seriously, you'd be better off trying this first- the T-screws come loose very easily.
-
that would be nice tho but alas

I'm puzzled... Why do you need to touch the polar scope reticle on an NEQ6?
Gina, you ideally ought to centre the reticule in any polarscope-that way you can accurately align the the mount to the polar axis and hence get a more accurate polar alignment.
