I doubt flexure will be a problem with the modern fiberglass reinforced belts of today providing enough tension is applied.
Actually that's a very good point and not something I've come across yet -How is the optimum tension attained /retained ?

I see Morgans have put their prices up again

Stick an SCT crayford on there
PS I do so like that little Mak guider !!

defo looks Ex-military to me, missile/plane obsy role perhaps- get 'im down to 200 and snap hei hand off. If it needs a bit of work/fettling it'll still be better than a 150 pro surely
IM ex-milatary will be high spec???
Just noticed -says 320, seems a tad high
-
That's just sooo good !

Find the .inf file at morgans, d/load then install ( right click), then the cam will be recognised when it's plugged into the machine. You might have to "Show" windows where to find the .inf file when you do plug it in.
Then open WcRam , check relevent disclaimer box, click to open cam, choose cam, then open binaries( presuming you've already moved the SPC900 bin file into the correct folder in the WcRam program file folder ),click on spc900 binary then bottom right- move to cam.
It's all in this thread somewhere

they've none left !!
You can still get them thru FLO tho

Just successfully flashed both my 880's and it took me all of 2 minutes total......
Not as difficult as was once made out....
Ain't that a surprise

Just want to say that the adapters from Wayne are first class. The screw in dust cap is awesome, have that screwed into the filter. Nice work Wayne!
Couldn't agree more Russ, and unique too, noway they'll slip off when you're not looking !
now how about some with a C/CS fit so I can cover my cam chip etc nice and flush with the body ?
Tony if it stays clear and not too blustery ( as it looks like it might) then it's defo Mak night ! It's had it's li'l ol' fan blowing now for 2hrs down by the open basement door , just yapping to get out there and eat some planet(s)

I'm hoping to try tonight if skies stay clear, that and WCS, cheers Tony
-
Forecast for clear skies here too ( don't hold your breath:rolleyes:) so might pop it in the Mak !
-
yeah but you're not ever gonna need to flash it back to 750K so no worries there- ididn't even bother I just flashed the 900 binary straight on
-
while we're discussing capture software: When PHD connects to my 880NC-flashed-to-900 it displays greyscale image only. Is that common?
Same her on both machines so..... yup !

Use WcCtrl alongside- you can even save indivdual settings in a log for future use
-
get a sharp knife/screwdriver and pop off the collar then unscrew the lens assembly
-
IMPORTANT UPDATE/DISCOVERY !
Now I have never attempted to use the w/cam for guiding before but others suggested it could be used with PHD, so out of curiosity I did. No probs with getting an image up BUT here's the BONUS !!
You can also still use WcCtrl alongside !! Heck ! so easy, you alter the cam settings without having to go thru "Cam Dialogue" in PHD- Now I never knew that !!

Oooh Oooh mine just arrived along with Wayne's nosepiece !
nosepiece cover straight off and onto the nose piece of the LU
Spare Uv/IR straight onto the nosepiece for the cam. Lens cover & lens off, camera flashed, K3CCDtools fired up ( for the 1st time since early '09 ), WcCtrl fired up
BOB'S your Aunty's husband !!
HOW NOSTALGIC !!!!
Running YUY2 codec- may fiddle about with OVCapture later and compressionless codec
this is all toooo eeaasy !!
Ta Rus.
PS those nosepieces on Morgans look very familiar Wayne

Some of the large chip (1/2") CMOS webcams are great for lunar work. Unfortunately i cannot remember any model name and numbers.

Look up a decent timber merchant, if you're gonna do it you might as might go for a decent timber from the start, ash or seasoned oak. they'll take a better cut/work than a soft wood IMO
Take your time and remember, measure twice cut once

well done Simon- I too tried and dropped the thumbscrew idea for the same reasons, so I'm pleased that a relatively simple fix has been found- tho I went down the centring route fiddly , very bl**dy fiddly)
