  1. 🤣 Just bought the 12.5mm Morpheus Thanks peeps. I've only been here a day and already I've learned masses. You lot are SO friendly and helpful!
  2. Thanks all. Apologies, I should have said that I don't mind spending over £100. I'll check out the 12.5mm Morpheus
  3. I took this one last week without an adapter but just holding my iPhone close to a 26mm Plossl eye piece. I just wanted to see if it could be done. It's hardly brilliant, but I was amazed at just how easy it was for my phone to 'see' the image from my scope!
  4. I recently bought an adapter to fit my Canon EOS750D to my LX-90 with the aim of taking some images of the moon. I also bought an eyepiece projection adapter (the eyepiece goes inside it) but I have read in a few places that prime focus is much better than eyepiece projection. Any advice for a total newbie? Thanks
  5. Reading the excellent post on this topic by The Warthog, it looks like I have a gap in my eyepiece collection at around 12.5mm. Ricochet recommended I try a wide angle and suggested Explore Scientific's 82° range. They don't seem to have a 12.5mm, but I might go for the 14mm? Any other suggestions? Thanks
  6. thanks SO much everyone for these super helpful answers. Really appreciate it.
  7. oops! sorry. You are right. I was reading the combined weight! Thanks 😳
  8. wow! thanks so much for this super helpful post! (Hope you're still on the forum, as I see it's from 12 years ago!). So I have a couple of f/10 telescopes (a 10cm refractor and a 20 cm reflector). Currently I have; Meade Super Plössl 26mm Meade series 4000 Super Plössl 9.7mm Meade series 3000 Plössl 6.7mm 2x Barlow lens So from this article, it sounds like I should invest at least in a 12.5mm in addition? (can anyone recommend a good make?) Why does the OP say you shouldn't use a Barlow with a f/10 telescope?
  9. Interesting thread. Thanks everyone! vlaiv - you recommend the EQ5, but according to the product spec it has a max payload of 9kg. I have a Meade LX-90 8" (which weighs 15kg). Can you recommend a mount able to take that? Thanks
  10. I live in town where the sky is a bit rubbish (Bortle 6) and I don't have a car to take my scope out somewhere nice. Any tips on any techniques to make the best of a bad situation? Maybe filters to get rid of the sodium lamps? Thanks

    Hi everyone!

I bought a camera for the scope (Meade LPI-G) and I also have an adapter for my canon DSLR. But naturally there have only been cloudy skies since they arrived! 😂

    Hi everyone!

I have been interested in astronomy since I was a kid (a long time ago!) and want to get back into it. I have a Meade 10cm refractor (not sure what model, but it's an f/10) and a Meade LX-90 20cm f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain reflector. Only alt azimuth mounts on both. Hoping to do some astrophotography of planets, so looking forward to learning from you guys.
