  1. Has anyone in the lounge used a spotting scope as an alternative to binoculars for stargazing. I was thinking of getting one for when I have a spare hour or in between clouds instead of lumping my 8 inch dob outside. I would be interested to read other comments on this subject.

  3. Wouldn't the city lights of Brighton reach Ditchling Beacon. I'm not from that area so i wouldn't know.
  4. My 15x70's are quite heavy after a while but give a good view of star clusters. I have a tripod but it's much less hassle to have them in hand.

  6. I've just seen the Andromeda galaxy for the first time with my bins. Quite impressed really as we have the moon and street lights shining. Waiting until 1am when the street lights go off to have another look.
  7. I bought a few BST ep's and thought that the BST barlow would compliment them, this is a new learning curve for me and i'm really enjoying it.
  8. Has anyone used a 2X bst barlow with the baader zoom eyepiece.

  12. I have a skywatcher 200p dobsonian which ive had for about 5 weeks now. I was looking at buying a baader zoom eyepiece. Would this work with my scope. It still has the original focusing device, would i need an adaptor or would this ep just slot in the same as my other ep's. Thanks in advance.

  14. Hi all, I have recently bought an 8-inch dob and was wondering whether dew will be a problem with these scopes. At the moment i am only using it in the evenings until about 2 am and haven't had a problem yet. Thanks in advance.
  15. Skybadger are you a member of Basingstoke astro, if so have you any idea when they might be having there meet ups again. I'm new to astronomy and it would be good to pop along and get some info from experienced guys.
  16. Hi, i recently bought a skywatcher 200p dob which came with a 25mm and a 10mm ep. I have since bought bst starguider 2x barlow, bst 18mm and 8mm ep. Will these keep me going until i can afford more. What other ep's would you guys recommend. Thanks in advance.
