  1. This picture shows a dot of where my 0 is set on my polar scope
  2. Hi hope everyone is well? I'm after some advice please with regards to me trying to polar allign. Basic terms needed not overly experienced. So I thought I've been doing well with my polar allignment but when doing my star allignment I seem to be quite a distance out. I know that's the idea of the star allignment before anyone says it will be out to start with. My polar clock in the scope doesn't show 0 at the top its slightly out showing the 0 halfway in between where 1 and 2 would be on a clock. Is this a big issue? If so how do I correct the polar clock in my mount (heq6-r) secondly I've seen some videos about aligning the reticle crosshairs to test accuracy. Anyone have any tips on how I can get more accuracy.... do I leave the polar scope allignment and purchase sharpcap or another software to allign? HELP PLEASE!!!! Thanks in advance.
  3. I don't believe I have a field flatener? I haven't tried using it to focus on an object during the day. I need to do my star alignment on my mount but can't get anything to show in the eyepiece at all. And can't get anything to show on live view on camera either.
  4. Hi I'm hoping someone owns a scientific explorer 127 ED triplet scope. I purchased one over the summer to start astrophotography. I'm struggling to view anything with the scope. I've struggled to get anything in live view on my camera. And I'm also not getting anything through eyepieces when using them. I've tried using the 2 extension tube pieces but still no luck. I'm not sure if its something I'm doing or faulty scope. Any help much appreciated TiA
  5. Hi I'm looking for some storage ideas for keeping my equipment safe but easily accessible. Its for storing my eyepieces, dslr and guide cam along with fittings for my scope and mount. Cables etc. I would like a trolley like solution but something that has multiple compartments. Either a toolbox or vanity trolley? Anyone use anything like this? TiA

  7. Is there an app that gives you all the data you have to enter on the handset for your mount? I'm sure I saw somebody post either on here or another site that there was. Cant remember what it's called though. Thanks in advance

  9. This was my setup in the end. Bit of a trial run tonight before the clouds ruined everything.
  10. Thanks Ed always useful to see what people are using and how they have their setups and cables. I have picked up a cheap usb Hub 2.0 that's powered off facebook market place for 10 pound. I am picking up 2x repeater cables later that are 5m each and they are £5 each. So should have everything to try both ways to see what works best for me. Really appreciated the advice. Thanks Lee
  11. I've got an observatory and I have mains power in there. The cables that came with the cameras are very short and my laptop is bout 4feet away. I need the cables to go down to the floor then 4foot across then back up to the laptop. I havent got much money at the min due to spending 4000 pound on equipment and doing the obsy. I just want to tidy the cables cause I'm worried that with how short they are when the mount is twisting and turning it going to snag and break something. For this reason I just wanted some ideas of peoples set ups and what they use. I would like to have an option of extending out of the observatory into the garden if theres an object i cant capture from within the obsy. So basically running a lead out of the open roof section or door to the scope and mount outdoors keeping the laptop in the obsy and controlling it from in there like an office. Hope this makes sense.
  12. Hi I'm after some advice please... I've got a heq6r mount and I'm looking for some ideas to connect my camera and guide cam to my laptop. Would people recommend a powered usb hub 3.0 mounted to the mount or would I be better using a usb repeater cable. I have the asi120mm as my guide camera and my canon 600D so would only be 2 cables to the laptop. I'm looking for cheap and quick and easy options ready for thursday/friday night. I'm struggling to get a powered usb hub without having to order online from local pc stores. So I'm thinking cable route would be better. Thoughts please thanks
  13. Hi I currently have an eq6-r pro mount and a explore scientific 127 triplet telescope. An asi120mm guide camera and canon 600d camera. The cables I have to run my setup are quite short and I'm looking to either buy a cheap usb hub or some longer cables. I have an observatory but I am after some suggestions on what longer cables would be suitable/reliable and what usb hubs people recommend? Also I have seen some people running their setups from in the house and I wonder how people would suggest doing this cheapest possible way. I cant afford at present to buy gadgets like the wifi all in one boxes people have attached so its cheapest route please. TIA
  14. I've decided to go with 2x 64gb just to make sure not going too large
  15. I did have a look and they said can take up to 128gb on canon. I do get what you mean though.
  16. Brilliant thank you. Someone by me selling a toshiba 128gb sd card for 15 quid. I just dont know if toshiba compatible and if they are any good. There is also a pny at currys reasonably priced which is their pro version again not sure if they are any good. Would be intresting to hear if anyone has used one in their 600D.
  17. 👍 thanks. Can you set all pics to save to card only? I want to use my main pc for editing.
  18. Currys sell a 128gb pny in their pro sort of range. At a decent price. Just dont want to buy and find it dont work. How have you found the pny?
  19. Hi just wondered what sd cards people are using with canon 600D. I'm after a cheap as possible 128gb sd card to just get started. Someone local selling a toshiba n203 128gb card. Have read some people say they have brought sd cards that aren't compatible so I'm a little worried about buying a brand that wont work. What is everyone using? Thanks
  20. Thanks for the advice. I have since managed to purchase an observatory off someone local who was selling on here. This topic can be closed now if admin see this.
  21. The slab area is slightly larger than the base. The base is raised off the ground and there is a slight slope for the water to run off the slabs
