  1. Does anyone know what saddle I would need to mount the 80 mm es triplet apo on top of the 8 edge HD. I want to mount it on the very top but would like to avoid putting a long dovetail on it if I can. I'd like it to mount like the finder scope does. Here is my scope. I wanted to find the 80mm in black but I can't locate one
  2. What would you pick. I like the idea of adding a beader click lock but I think I'd still be dealing with the screws from the diagonal
  3. The stock focus or I'm the edge HDA that I have sucks every few turns it kind of snaps back a little I have a hard time getting A-sharp focus with it is there of after market focus or that can replace it has anybody else have this type of problem with it I don't know what to get I don't do astrophotography not that I wouldn't one day but right now I just wanna have A-sharp focus
  4. I'm trying to find and 80 mm explore scientific carbon fiber APO refractor does anybody know a place that might have this where I could buy one I put in an order for 1 but they said they were all out and everywhere I go does look for it does not have it it would be awesome if I could locate the scope. They have the white available but I really got my heart set on that carbon fiber and it's gonna take a miracle it seems to find this any help would be much appreciated
  5. I have a edge 8hd and I was using the 40mm that came with it and my delos 10mm. Also I left the scope for about 2hrs and when I came back it was soaked from the dew. I have a shield. Rookie mistake. Does the stock focused suck?
  6. Last night I was out disguise were pretty clear Jupiter and Saturn or out than Myers came out Neptune to but it just seemed like I was never a sharply focused on anything I didn't have that much detail at all and Jupiter Saturn was really just a bright gold outline am I doing something wrong I figure they'd be more detail expressional I with the stuff that I have
  7. I ordered the tempest fans from deep space. And I was gonna get the televue everbrite....will that open up the view to the delos eypieces over the stock diagonal or will it do nothing?
  8. To be specific in what I'm asking.. .I had to think about it. I want another eyepiece. I only have the 10mm delos. I dont even count that 40mm it came with. Maybe it has a use idk. But ok I saw Jupiter and Saturn with the 10mm. I need something to look at the other cool [removed word]. Like I want a breathtaking view of the andromeda galaxy. You know I want other cool [removed word] that's out there. So I figure that the 10mm isn't gonna be big enough for me like the andromeda galaxy. But I want a piece that's gonna make it and other things look great and big as they can be with a nice background. So what would I need for that. I like the delos I have. Idk it's in my head that delos are the best so I was gonna get all them eventually. Someone offered me a es 14mm 100 for 350. But I'm hesitant and you know why because it's not a delos lol. I appreciate your help.
  9. What televue eyepieces with their difffere t fov sizes are the go to pieces for an 8 in sct like the edge HD. I have a delis 10mm and I need to grab a couple more eypieces and I have ideas that i want the best but the delos m.j i have is 72 degrees. I was gonna get a 14mm delos and maybe a 17.5 but the naglers have an 82 degree. Which is better. And the the ethos with their 100 degrees is look like. Lol. I was gonna get the televue 2in diagonal to replace the cheap stock one as it comes with a 1.25 adapter.
  10. Now you got my wheels spinning. I was gonna get the 2 inch diagonal and I was thinking a 31mm nagler because of its reputation. That was gonna cost just under 900. And now in looking at that fcd1 apo which is the same price and comes with the diagonal. So its diagonal and 31 nagler. Or diagonal and 80mm apo.
  11. Thanks dr strange. One question. Are the televue better than es 82s. Es where my original choice but got the TV instead. And do I need anything bigger than an 18mmm?:
  12. Hey guys thanks for all your help I've asked a few similar questions I have the Celeste Ron AVX mount with the 8HD edge and star sense I got to see Saturn and Jupiter it was pretty cool I thought I seem Pluto but maybe not so I have the 40 mm eyepiece that it came with and I have a 10 mm Delos. I need to get at least one more eye piece I' if it were you and you were in my shoes having what I have, what size ep would you get and what degree field of view would you get? Originally I was gonna get a 82 degree 14mm explore scientific and the previous scope came with a 25mm. I dont knowing this 40mm is very useful. But imma rookie lol.
  13. I'm in bay city, Michigan. USA. And yes my intention is to get a couple more eyepieces. Just being a rookie I'm kinda lost on how many degree of view to get and all that. Some of them eypieces cost 700 so I just got the delos to start of with as you can tell by my previous posts i even called eyepieces lenses smh. Also i installed the starsense and used a screwdriver that came with it and it was longer so I'm still worried if I need to pull that out cuz the focused snaps every few rotations like it builds up tension and pop starts the cycle over again.
  14. I understand magnitude I just dont know what's good numbers and whats bad. And starsense said it was Pluto lol. It was really really dim and just a dot.
  15. So last night was my first night with my equipment. Avx mount edge HD 8. Starsense. Came with 40mm ep. And also have 10mm delos. I saw Jupiter and Saturn was cool as hell. Seemed like the visual was hazy I guess I would say in out in out. Never a steady sharp focus. Wasn't exactly a dark spot. But I also really didn't know what planetary nebula or other cool stuff to look for. I was learning initial set up and polar align and finding Polaris because I could never clearly see ursa minor. But I even saw Pluto which was just a dot. But ow having this equipment and getting past the first time with it is there any tips tricks or anything I should now. Focused seem to snap with every couple turns.
  16. I have an avx mount with an 8 edge HD. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a good complete tutorial. I just got this scope. I dont know how to do the intial set up to get it looking. Really appreciate the help.
  17. What's the best power supply for the celestron c8. Need wires? And do I need to get a collimater right off bat. Scope is edge HD and new
  18. I'm having a tough time with this stuff. As you can tell by my posts. I have an avx 8 edge HD. It came with a 40mm plossl which probably isn't very good I haven't used it. But I was looking at getting one or 2 eyepieces and I mean ordering today. One was gonna be the es 82 14 mm. I wanna be able to look at the planets in detail and not all little too. Then I saw a luminos 15mm for about half the price. Is there alot of difference between them? Then I was gonna get something to bring out dso. Maybe a 2" I think I would need to just add a 2" diagonal to do that. Anybody out there with this scope or anyone who can tell me what's up or what to get.
  19. If you were gonna get one eypiece for this scope, the 8 edge HD avx mount and it could be any eyepiece. What would it be and why?
  20. Are these good. This a good.deal or should I look at something elae
  21. I got avx 8 edge HD. It comes with a 40mm eyepiece but I wanna get 2 eypieces that compliment it. One for planets and one for deep space. I was thinking a 14mm 82 degree es and another. I was going with 1.25 inch but I could do 2 in i dont know if there worth it.
  22. It comes with a 40mm but.you know. What should I get and 1.25 or 2 in for this scope. I'm a rookie here. I was buying a 14mm 82 degree e s piece for the nexstar 8se. But it came with a couple extra eyepieces too. And then the filters....ugh
  23. What's up with this meade lx90 vs the celestron equipment I have had a refractor
