  1. Morning just acquired Skywatcher Explorer-200PDS 200mm f/5 with EQ-5 EQ Mount.I have also got tracking motors (not used them yet) Any advice hints or tips appreciated. Have observed Jupiter with the scope so far. My aim is to eventually take pics etc and any advice on that aspect would be welcome. Budget is very tight now so please bear that in mind. Im in Whitchurch, Shropshire and feel very isolated!! Not new to Astronomy but not had a scope for about 15 years Thanks
  2. Hi just acquired a 200PDS. did you get any answers?
  3. Thanks for the encouragement, I am sure I will be more than happy with the trade off between portability/aperture/price
  4. Thanks, not new to Astronomy, but I feel that I needed a new slant/interest hence the imaging! I'll get used to the telescope, mount and drives then off I will go and experiment. It's a shame that Astronomy doesn't have the appeal it used to. As a kid their were several neighbours who were avid astronomers, here I know of no one!! Impressed with images you have shown me, encourages me to have a go
  5. hi Yes the mount will be tracking, no doubt my first shot will be of the moon with my iPhone! Skywatcher Explorer 250PDS (OTA) (f/4.7) 10inch Parabolic Newtonian on EQ5 dual drive. is what's coming tomorrow. Skies pretty good here in Whitchurch (Ive waited a long time to get decent skies)
  6. HI very new to imaging, Im after a camera to start me off, thinking second hand to keep cost right down. Had a Meade etx105 which was great but limited (this has long since been sold on) Having 200mm reflector tomorrow on EQ mount. need ideas for cheapest way to dip toe in water so to speak on imaging. thanks
