I've seen the last thread post was two weeks ago - am I too late to the party on this one now?
From the UK it's not possible to see Pons-Brooks anymore.
The comet is now visible in the southern hemisphere.
There might be another comet visible from the UK in October.

Hale-Bopp is the only comet that I’ve seen naked eye. I wasn’t into astronomy back then, but even in a light polluted areas it was clear, with a tail, like drawings and paintings of comets I’d seen. You couldn’t miss it.
So far I can remember Comet Wirtanen as just naked eye visible. Neowise was clearly visible by eye, and I could just about see 12P Pons- Brooks at the end of March.
Comets are fascinating and scary too.

Hale-Bopp C/1995 O1 during 1997 was amazing , was lucky to be around for that one. Before Hale-Bopp I hadn't seen a Comet. I can't remember Comet West in 1976, i may of seen it by chance...

Just noticed 13P Olbers on stellarium while checking the altitude or 12P Pons-Brooks.
Then checked SGL for any info.
Prolly too feint for untracked DSLR shots.

Just came in from a short (30 mins) observation of the nice triangle: thin crescent moon - Jupiter - comet Pons-Brooks. The APM 16x70 MS ED gave crisp views in the clear evening sky; Moon and Jupiter fitting in the same field of view (4.1°). A tad to the W, the comet's coma and star-like false nucleus came into view. Brightness of the coma around 5.0 (a tad brighter than the defocussed Pi Ari (5.3 mag) close by). Tail visible for 15-20 arc min, but several times, especially during moving the tripod-mounted binos, even longer in averted vision, up to 1.5°(?). Three totally different objects of the solar system, almost in the same field of view; fascinating.

Would of loved to get a photo of those three.

Tonight had had another chance. Again weather was not quite cooperative. First I had to wait for the clouds to disappear, then, 10 minutes after imaging started, fog started to form. Luckily my observatory is 7 metres above ground level, so not too much issue there for the first five minutes, but it kept me from shooting luminance. Same processing as above. The bright star is Hamal.

Awful news
I really enjoyed his vlogs , and WITNS on YouTube.
He did come across as slightly thin/frail at times.
He lived for his passion of the night sky.

March 29th
First time I've seen the Comet through binoculars (swift 10x50s ) this evening 20.10GMT , easy to pick out. A bit of annoying cloud had to drift in, then the Comet sunk behind the roof. Managed to grab another ariel photo, so a short but sweet observation.

I hope your neighbor didn't mind 🔭

Very good visibility yesterday evening with the arrival of cleaner and drier air from the northwest.
Shame the moon was about 90% full. I haven't seen this comet naked eye, but got a couple of shots in camera. The comet definitely appeared brighter than a couple of weeks ago, plus the sky was clearer yesterday than it had been for about a month.

There were clear spells in the evening of Wednesday 6th March, so took a couple of shots of 12P/Pons-Brooks before it sank below the roof. The sky was VERY hazy with pollution being imported from the continent, and this made the light pollution worse. The clouds returned shortly after.
Single 20 sec exp with Astrotracer and 55-300 zoom.
