Camera remote intervalometer thingybob.
Got bored and blinded when using the phone app.Lots of test pictures of the fruit bowl so far.
Seems to work fine as long as the 'interval' is set to whatever you want + about a few seconds to allow the camera to write the last file and get itself ready for the next picture.

Installed on my 'test' win10 x32 laptop but could run.
Got the start-up splash (picture of an observatory) and then it quit itself.Pity - it looked quite user friendly.

-which ones?
They are advertised as "52mm 2X Magnification Telephoto Tele Converter Lens for Digital SLR Camera " on a well known auction site.
Takes a while to arrive from China. They are fairly cheap. Not the best quality: no anti-reflection coating and there are some specs inside the lens.
I plan to stick them inside some 'welding goggles' or 'safety goggles' for a bit of fun on family star gazing nights. Improves on the Mk1 eyeball anyway ?-

Correct @Fraunhoffer. My plan is to make a big top hat shaped piece that will bolt on in the same place as the stock focus assembly. The speed reducer is in the post and I'm going away for 10 days but as soon as it's made i'll post pictures.
@hornedreaper33 Ah ok I think I get it. So pull the rubber knob off and undo the 3 screws.... screw top hat thingy in place and attach slow mo to the original shaft (minus rubber knob), and it is also attached to the top hat.
What happens exactly when the 3 CSK screws are undone and the orange round plate removed. Is there a risk of anything dropping out (before I have a peek) ?

There is a nice anodise orange plate held in by three M3 CSK screws that holds the bearing assembly in on the stock focus assembly. I'll just turn the body of my dual speed focuser to make use of what's already there ?
Can I check my understanding here - the flanges on the gear drive needs to be attached to the scope body in some way (e.g could adapt the orange ring / or make something similar)

Hi all,
Here are my rather basic attempts with just a compact zoom (Sony hx90) and cheapo tripod.
They are all 10s 800 ISO and widest aperture I can get f is usually around 100 and I crop the pictures to suit. Some are stacked upto 10 and the focus seems a bit off sometimes. These are all jpeg files as I don't have any RAW capability and I just use the copy to clipboard from DSS to go into an ancient copy of Paint Shop Pro to do some curve stretching (coo just looked it up v7 from 2000!)The flip up screen is great and using the picnic table and 5 sec shutter delay helps a lot.
I was really pleased to be able to pick out Brocchi's Cluster and the double cluster in Perseus. Orion was beginning to show some features and I was surprised to be able to split some of the doubles in Lyra.
Im finding that I don't need to go above 150mm before things get hard and frequently have to use the camera on a high ISO setting to help find my way around as its more sensitive than my eyes and we have fairly light well polluted skies near London.
So thankfull for this thread and the other folks who have submitted their pics with some quite simple equipment.
Cheers-
