  1. Dec and ra were about 20 arc seconds with Nina 3 point alignment if I remember correctly. RMS total probably includes dithering. I think my coma is causing a mess so maybe need to spend some money soon. Off topic for thread but I managed to get some on axis focus when I finished on Jupiter in the morning light. Just glad to do better than what I have done before https://www.astrobin.com/6ty0f2/
  2. Yes that's true I will try Then I think a bit of everything no coma correcter tracking not good enough focus , I will do shorter exposures, try to get a lower fhwm and do more corrections post capture star repair dimming and binning down a bit.
  3. I seem to be not the only one having this trouble
  4. Yes great advice I was just seeing what better polar alignment could do. I've not done 5 mins before. I wanted to do more overall time but ngc6888 was getting to low. I can reject more frames with 3 2 1 mins will try. I grabbed some tracking screen shots of tracking of ngc 6888 and the pinwheel. And how M101 should look like.
  5. I used a frame rejection FWHMLimit=5.72973 with Sharpcap live stack and adjusted once manually trying to get as low as I could half way through as it was rejecting most frames. I know focus is not great (sloppy 1.25" focuser) but can do star repair cropping tilt etc for now in startools until I get a modern telescope with a coma corrector and electronic auto focuser just seeing how far I can take this one. I was more supprised with the report of double stars that should not be there.
  6. I would have been out of focus as I dont have a autofocuser I just have 2 spider vanes instead of 4 if that makes things look odd just adding a 34 min pinwheel 20 second exposures without the filter done after ngc6888 and just a normalised tone stretch to make it visable for comparing. Double stars?
  7. Not sure what causing the double stars just for info I'm using an old 1980s telescope without a coma correcter due to a 1.25inch focuser. I have F ratio of below the recommend min of F5 for the filter fl of 1071 , masked off mirror for sharpness and reduced coma mirror 9inch down from 10 so focal ratio f4.68. First time doing 5 minutes guiding so maybe some kind of telescope shake?!
  8. Just sharing my Ngc6888 on the 31/8/24 masked 10" reflector at 9" Sv705c camera with a svbony sv220 filter bit of a step up from previous deepsky photos! 16x5mins bortle 6. Will have to reduce my dithering amounts and work out how to do the occasional automated image recenter as I lost a bit. Was really impressed when nina showed the first exposed frame on my screen.
  9. Put my mushy ser file through Winjupos really helps so I recommend if not using it.
  10. Have you ever gone over old pics and reprocessed with better processing skills up to date software? Do you find a big improvement? Any examples? anything astrophotography based would be interesting Here is a simple example taken Six years ago an old jpg Single hand held phone shot through lens that was processed in paint shop pro at the time I believe. Now reprocessed perhaps too much with a few tweaks in affinity photo star tools and Astro surface.
  11. No the only other camera apart from the zwo asi120mc-s has been my canon 750d which is not able to capture as much detail. Started with mobile phones shots like this Sony z1 from 2015!
  12. Autostakket Registax wavelets and Astrosurface 10" Reflector f4.3 2.25x Barlow Asi 120mc-s
  13. Super image love the detail love it. I put an hour on it recently with Canon 750D and a vintage 10 inch reflector chuffed to get some detail in bortle 6 skies
