Haha.
So does the 1600MC just screw directly onto the plate?
You need to set up the adapters for 44mm for the Canon version of the lens. So you'd use the 16.5mm M48 to M42 adapter on the plate first, a 10mm M42 spacer you need to source separately, then the female 11mm spacer that comes with the camera plus the 6.5mm depth of the sensor gives you 44mm.

First Attempt at North American Nebula and a quick process, will do it properly later.
Canon 6d at iso 800
Samyang 135mm at f4
Star Adventurer
I tried at f2 and f2.8 and iso 1600 but image seemed washed out. Any tips on settings would be appreciated.
90 x 30 second subs
10 flats
10 darks
50 bias
Thanks Rob
Hi Rob. I found F4 was the best compromise for full frame images with my 6D. I also shot at ISO1600 but used an Optolong clip filter.

Looking at the recent sale FLO had, there were a few cameras that had been fixed under warranty so things can go wrong. I'd rather have the support of the retailer here in the UK than having to send it back to China myself. Its that extra insurance that your paying for by buying locally.

Looks to me like it has dithered in Dec but obviously the mount has no way to recover in that direction. Not familiar with Air software but PHD2 gives the option to turn off Dec commands and dither in RA only.

Have you tried sharpcap? PHD isn't the best software for testing in the daytime as it will probably be too bright.
Edit: Have you installed all the iOptron Ascom drivers also?

Those LED tracing pads might be fine for mono but they do funny things to my flats with my 6D and Redcat.

He's more than likely in good health..
I suggest you do some Internet searching on this subject as its a taboo topic on this forum.

Too many guru's over on the other forum..
Process your images to how you like it, and sod the haters!
I like the first one too!

But if we are saving to jpeg for display purposes, surely it can't be avoided?

How are you changing the method when you zoom in?

Did No.6 ever escape or was he always caught by the bubble gum? I never seen all of them.

Have you looked at your deBayered flats? They can have a colour bias. A minor colour bias shouldn't be a problem, but it shouldn't be too strong (what ever too strong means).
No, I don't debayer until after the lights are calibrated. All calibration is done with raw files.

Is it a permanent setup? Perhaps it wasn't aligned as good as you thought? Balance?

So the flats are 50% of the camera range?
I'd try a 3rd
You got me thinking again about this. 50% always worked before so why is it different now? Facepalm moment! I had always used my Artesky flats panel in the past but for the above images I had tried laptop screen, mobile phone and a tracing pad, all because they are portable and the Artesky requires 12v supply. So I shot a new set of flats today with the Artesky. The results are very interesting. The colour has changed dramatically. The bottom 2 images are after using the Artesky master flat, the left one with the CFA Scaling box unticked and the right one with the default Pixinsight settings. I cant believe how much of a difference to the colour the choice of flats make though.
And below is a mild iteration of DBE on image 8 (Artesky flats, default PI calibration)
So it looks like OSC, or my DSLR anyways, is very fussy as to the light source for flats. Looks like I need to lug a 12v supply with me in future and the Artesky panel..

I think the GT71 might be a bit much for the SGPro.

I use Stellarmate (RPi4 with SM OS) for my mobile setup and it has the proper version of PHD2 on there. Runs off a 5v USB power bank for hours and controls platesolving and capture. Can control everything over VNC on my phone. The SM uses its own WIFI network, you just connect to it. Much cheaper than the Air and more versatile but a bit clunky to use for a beginner.
If you've got a ZWO guiding and imaging camera then the Air and the accompanying app are probably easier to use though. Its very popular for this reason.

I suppose you can't buy the table top mount on its own?

Can you not remove the focuser and check for the misalignment? Sometimes it's a case of unscrewing things loose to get them to sit back into where they should before tightening things up again. You've nothing to loose.

What alacant says above. Only insert it into the drawtube as far as the coma corrector goes. That's the same as if you used your DSLR. Should focus around the same position them.

Do a star test on a bright star. What scope is it by the way? You got any pics of what you think doesn't look straight? Could be that the optics are still OK but the drawtube is slightly off centre with the optics.

It should come with the 16.5mm and 11mm female in the box with the camera.
And ebay for the 10mm.
