Superb image Avani, i wonder what media will around in another 196 years

Pretty sure i saw one of these at Astrofest 2 years ago, or something very similar. I will have the 130 please, looks an absolute beauty 🙂

I like to capture Venus in the morning, mostly because i can follow it up to a higher altitude.

Still a bit showing despite the conditions. Always worth a short session on Venus whenever there is a clear sky.

Jupiter has quickly become very dominant in the morning sky already. This will make a very nice view, weather permitting. Thanks for the additional heads up 🙂

Lovely end result, the UV is showing some very nice cloud structure.

I like it as well, especially for my Solar images, thanks for your adverts.

Cracker! There's been so many excellent venus captures this year.... I guess the baader venus filter has been a real game changer!
Its pretty much essential for this level of detail, but i think its recommended that at least 200mm aperture is used as well.

Venus in reasonable conditions from the 12.02.2020. Captured with Celestron C9.25, baader UV filter and Asi 290mm camera.
Stacked 10% of 25,000 frames. Some decent cloud visible again, fascinating to see the difference in tonight's images compared to this years other images.
The disc almost looked blank on the Firecapture preview screen.

Very nice Roger, a little hazy tonight in Bedfordshire, good seeing though!

Very nicely captured!

Nicely captured Luke, good to see progress. Amazing how different the view was tonight, no sign of the "v" shaped cloud formation, your image is very similar to what i am about to post, which is very comforting to see.

Very nicely captured, nice UV cloud details visible.

That's very interesting. I wonder if I've just been blocking all of the UV light by having the UV blocking filter in place.
There are two seemingly identical CS-mounts in the box, which have no identification marks on either, apart from the letters 'CS'. However, one of them has a pink bloom at certain light angles as you can see below, so I assume that's the UV-IR blocking one. I have been using the other one, which I therefore assume is the clear one and thus not the cause of the problem?
I think i would leave them both off when imaging in UV, if that is an option.

Should be quite easy to see the phase, even considering how bright Venus is. Maybe try a few different filters to dim the brightness a little?
