mitigate my tracking errors
Hi. Have you tried PHD2's new predictive PEC algorithm? It's out of beta testing and available as a development build. HTH.

I'd pick a Bresser achro over a Skywatcher achro

Hi. Bresser: You deal directly with the manufacturer who carries spares and replacements in Europe. They answer messages the same day. You can speak to them on the phone. They sort out problems no matter how small they may be. Just my experience and of course YMMV. HTH.

I'm looking for guidance on guiding!
Hi. I think the saw-tooth could be reduced by lowering the aggression and upping the hysteresis. But using hysteresis for RA, not ppec. HTH.
**send your logs to the devs anyway as they are testing the ppec beta ATM.

There is a guide written for users moving from PI to StarTools. HTH.

Having tried my PI trial alongside StarTools I was happy to allow it to expire. Without having to jump through time consuming hoops, I couldn't find anything in PI as efficient and straightforward as the StarTools wipe, noise tracking nor the simple manner in which masks and layers are handled. There's a 16-bit windows gimp build v2.9.5 here which compliments ST well. But what do I know? I'm only a year in to processing. Just my €0.02 anyway. HTH.

Red and white? Send a copy to Jose Mourinho to hang in the MU dressing room. Explain that it will serve as a reminder for his players to pass the ball only to players wearing similar colours. Then claim your €10000 fee for inspirational effect.

the axis 90 degrees to this
Hi. Spider vanes? They should position the central up-down bolt of the secondary centrally in the tube. HTH.

Hi. There's something of nebulosity I think. Maybe worth stretching again?

Did you just use the Bresser scope
I used a coma corrector too, although it's not that bad without and you avoid those halos around the stars. HTH

Hi. I had the same. Third time lucky, having started an optimistic 30s then 60s, I finally got dust with a 6" f5 at two minutes. HTH.

Hi. There are some good 2" eyepiece deals on AliExpress. This 32mm gives amazing views. HTH.

Well done. I'm sure you'll like it. Clouds in Durham for a 150 f5? You should see what a new 200 f4 can do in Alicante...

Hi. I have one. It makes my old skywatcher look flimsy. It seems to be setup for photography, with a lot of back-focus and an optional visual extension for eyepieces: mine has the hexafoc focusser and short tube with a big secondary. It takes sharp photos. HTH.

light frames get darker
Hi. I find that too. I think it's that the sky is getting darker as the night proceeds: between snaps using APT you can see the histogram moving progressively left. HTH.

This comes with the Star Discovery and Virtuoso mounts.
Ah, OK. So it can be used if you want to mount the camera vertically? Does the dovetail of one you cite fit standard vixen clamps? I've often wondered how best to turn the camera around 90º. TIA.

Nah. He's got it all worked out. He grabs his eq8 (steel tripod model) with the other hand and away he goes. Sorted.
