The purchase has been agreed with the seller but due to his isolation periods and hospital appointments and my own commitments I’m not likely to have it in my hands until the middle of April. Hopefully the skies will be clear for everyone until then 🤞but I apologise in advance for any clouds released due to the purchase.
The wait is going to be agonising though…
The wait will be worth it for all the years of pleasure it will give you 👍🏻

Now, this thread is a prime example of why SGL is so brilliant 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
And no mention of the price of Tak adapters either 🤣👍🏻

Don't worry, it's not Tak related. Actually it is, a different sort of Tak.
You tease, you 🤣

Not exactly about RM but I had a parcel shipped from Japan on Mon, it's travelled most of the world due to be delivered today on the van (not even on a priority delivery, two days covering this distance is amazing), tracking shows it's gone back to the depot... Guess the drivers had a tough day... Can't get the service nowadays can you?
I hope it’s a Japanese astro goodie 🤞🏻

I think the responces show it still down to the quality of the local postie.
Well, yes it is on the days they (are allowed to?) deliver. As mentioned above, we are lucky to get 3 deliveries a week in my village. Today is a non delivery day.

I spent 20 years observing under similar circumstances. It's so important to shield peripheral light from entering your eyes as you observe, so even though you are surrounded by annoying lights, using a blackout hood or blanket greatly improves your ability to make out fuzzies well. So whichever eyepiece you choose, you'll get the best out of it. ☺️
I think a ghost is sneaking a peak thru your Tak, Mike.

That is an impressive piece of kit! Worth getting just for the handle in my book 👍🏻

I tried one of these on my TSA-120. Very unimpressed.
The 'reaction arm' is made from flimsy, thin metal and bends causing the focuser to feel spongy. I made a thicker one and it sorted this issue but after a while the securing screws came loose. I sold it and bought a starlight instruments focuser which broke soon after installing.
Starlight sent me a replacement part which I've fitted and will see. It's likely to last forever as haven't been able to use the scope for months due to the ever present clouds.
I posted an honest review of the Mef-3 on the flo website but they obviously only publish the positive ones as has not appeared.
That’s odd about bending. I’ve never experienced that on my TSA 120 (or FS 100DZ). I wonder if the focuser itself was too tight (can be user adjusted).

I find my Lunt 50 (single stack) gives excellent views. I had to get a replacement filter a few years ago (supplied free, but I think you have to pay a few pounds now) - just beware if buying 2nd hand.
I generally use it with a hyperflex 21 to 7 zoom, but sometimes with Tak LE eyepieces. All these come to focus.

I sold my 31 Nag a couple of years ago, replacing it with a 35mm Panoptic. On my Genesis SDF the Pan was sharp to the edge, which the Nag certainly wasn't. Losing the half degree extra true field provided by the 31 Nagler was no real loss at all. I felt the 35 Panoptic to be better in every way. I sold my 35 Pan when selling my SDF. Now my widest field eyepiece is my Altair 30mm UFF and couldn't be happier!
That’s interesting Mike. I’ll do a comparison of both.

We were out when the postman tried to deliver 3 parcels today. One required a signature.
Later today he returned to try again as he had seen my wife jogging so new we were about.
Can't better that.
Regards Andrew
Excellent. Our postie always checks the back garden if no response at door.
