Named the Heart Nebula. To me it looks more like it should be called the Flying Fox Nebula. Explore Scientific 80 mm triplet apo with Canon EOS 60Da on a NEQ6, 5 x 3 min stacked, ISO 4000. Astronomik CLS filter. Nebulosity & Photoshop. No guiding. 17 April 2015 (Sweden 60°N).

    Moon

    From the album: Goran Nilsson

Now (in May) in Sweden at 60 degrees north it will not get darker than twilight until mid August, so I have to settle for the moon. With the right exposure and picture processing it is actually quite colorful. Had great help in the processing by this youtube video; Yes, there is a blue sea on the moon - the Mare Tranquillitatis (Sea of Tranquility). The colour is apparently due to higher metal content in the basaltic soil or rocks. It was the site for the first landing in July 20, 1969. Equipment: Celestron Edge HG8" and Canon ES 60Da single exposure 1/60s ISO 400 on a NEQ6

    Observatory entrance

My slide-off roof observatory in Sweden (60° N). I like to build things so I made it last summer before I took my first astrophoto this spring. It is ca 5 x 2.5 m, half of it with a slide-off roof and the other half an insulated heated control room. The roof is leaning 15 degrees so it slides off easily onto two beams and is moved back with a 12V winch (takes 5 min off and on). When not in use I detach the beams and hang the up on the back of the observatory (you can see th hangers on the picture)
