  1. Do you mean you want an indication of some sort in the FocusAAF2 program so you can tell if the focuser is moving when you can't see it.

I have added a link to the Wiki section of the SF site http://sourceforge.net/p/arduinoascomfocuser/wiki/To-Do%20List/ to keep track of any requests - I've added yours to it.

    Thanks Dave.

Installed on windows 7 64 and I had done the manual instal before but not this time.

Seeing the focused stop on the aaf2 would be excellent.

  2. Installed no problem thanks.I have just started my third focuser. One on my rc one on my mak and one on my ts 65q.Many thanks Dave.

It would be nice if you could add the movement on the next update---this would excellent when you are using it via remote from the house or warm room.

  3. I now have the motor to drive the chain for the ROR.  I plan to use this with the motor in the case with chain guide.  Here's a photo showing the drive sprocket and chain guide.

And here is a diagram of how I think I can arrange the chain drive for the roof - chain shown in red.

I have the same make of motor.I bought the control unit and motor unit for £50 second hand but unused with no chain or rack.

I removed the motor and limit switches to use with a rack i got laser cut at work and fabricated side wall plates each side. should be finished by sunday .

The model of motor and remote control unit is a duo 650l

  4. I had a look at your eeprom code but believe you have some serious issues.

EEPROM in the controller is somewhat limited to 10,000 writes.

The way the code is written, this could be very quickly reached?

As example, put a little counter in that increments each time the eeprom is written, then do an imaging session and at the end of the night just print out/dump how many times it was written (might need another serial command) - then divide 10,000 by that number and what do you get? The number of sessions before the eeprom will likely fail?

    Cheers

    Robert

Does this mean that the focused will stop working?
  5. Dave - many thanks for providing the ascom driver and this great resource and tutorial.     After finally borrowing a replacement soldering iron, I finally completed this last night and now have it working via Ascom with Firecapture.     I still need to do another revision of the mount to fit my OO OC1 focuser and will probably upgrade to the 12V version of the 28BYJ48 to cope with the weight of the imaging train.

I'll need to find a 4K7 resistor to complete the 1wire temp enhancement, but otherwise ready to roll when the clouds part ;)

I used one of these they work fine--- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121024657930?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

  6. Hi

Can some one help me with pins on the uno.

I have a stepper i wish to use on another scope and the colours are different to the small geared one.

    The colours are /A = Yellow  A = Orange

    /B = Black   B = Brown and red and blue - and +
Which pins would match the code as above.
    Thanks
    Kenny
  7. Out of interest, what was wrong with the 5 volt?

I've got an Atik, an 8 position filter wheel and a flattener hung off my focuser and it all moves perfectly and with very fine steps. It's even attached to the coarse focus knob on a ####### #### William Optics crayford (I keep giving the Moonlites lusty glances!).

Would start to move the focuser on my rc8 but would give up Two atiks , oag ,reducer, filter wheel.
