I will be smarter next time.
If there is a next time.
I am still getting my 24 Panoptic. And with that I should be pretty much fixed for a long time
Don't tell your girlfriend this though

Poor Alan, cursed with his own bad weather and the cause of ours
Out of interest does anyone else use the packets of silica gel in their cases, or in fact think it's something worth bothering with?
I wouldn't have gone out specially to buy one but I work in IT and a lot of kit we buy comes with - I figured it couldn't hurt popping one in my EP case.
If you have them, use them. They won't dry stuff out, but they certainly help with residual moisture. They come in all sorts of products these days from electronics to dried food. I'm surprised astro gear doesn't come supplied with them, Or does it? Haven't bought anything 'new' for quite a while!

I still think the eyepiece storeage area that Tim Wetherell made for his fantastic 8" refractor is the best I've seen. Come to mention it the scope is one of the best I've seen too
Wow. Just Wow

My case has a rubbery foam type material - also salvaged from the works bin which cuts very well - I use a ruler and scalpel

The thread that goes on and on!
I rescued my case from the works recycling bin - I could believe they were gonna chuck it, or that I spotted it before they did. I was home to a borescope, now houses something far nicer. The TV stuff is permanent, the MaxVision may have to give way to a Vixen SLV that is on its way to me, and there's room for one or two more goodies - you know how it is!

Oops, forgot to say that the quality isn't great because its a scan of a paper print!
