  1. Very nice work yet again Mike. I managed my first session on Mars last night. It has been cloudy all this month here but I noticed a break in the clouds last night. Only lasted for 1/2 an hour but the seeing was good and over time I picked out some nice detail. I have yet to turn my notes and sketch into a final report, but I hope to post something later today.

  2. You should be able to correct for the differences in sight between your eyes using the diopter. Having said that, I don’t get on using binoviewers either. I have used binoculars for birding for more than 50 years and worked in a hospital laboratory for 45 years using binocular microscopes with no problems at all. When it comes to telescopes the cyclops view is much more pleasing and relaxing Don’t ask me why it’s just a fact for me.

  3. Using the solar filter film you are observing the photosphere of the Sun. You can see features such as sunspots, faculae and the granulation. A solar Ha filter let’s you observe the chromosphere . Here you can again see sunspots but also filaments and prominences. Adding an Ha filter to your system will not allow that. It is possible to increase the contrast in white light views by adding a solar continuum filter.
