Hi Simone, there's an established astronomy society in Reading if that's any help, found here: https://readingastro.org.uk/, also, not sure about the provenance of this one: http://www.astronomyclubs.co.uk/Clubs/Details.aspx?ClubId=305 Good luck and clear skies!

Hi Dave, I have the 3.2 StarGuider and use it in my C100ED in particular on the Moon and find it very satisfying, no light scatter etc, I haven't tried it on double stars though as I use my Nagler zoom for that. I do not believe you will be disappointed, it's good for the Moon but not much else in my humble opinion.

I have seen these on eBay a number of times, a set of 20 can be priced as much as €300, so you may have a bargain there!

Typically around Bortle 7, dropping to 6 on the better nights. That's all I could tell you. I'm a full on sucker for deep sky objects though, particularly galaxies and globular clusters.
No filters will help you with galaxies and globular clusters, I am afraid, you just need clear skies.

Hi there, I would go with the AZ5 deluxe, an absolutely solid combination, here is a picture of the one I bought my wife (focuser upgraded to a crayford, 2" diagonal added, the synta finder shoe is also added), you will find the included 1.25" diagonal disappointing, it is plastic and very cheaply made, unlike the rest of the scope:

The Sky Watcher Panaviews now come under a new branding - OVL, found here: https://www.firstlightoptics.com/ovl-eyepieces/panaview-2-eyepieces.html
The SW 32mm was my first ever purchase for my 200P and I can recommend it, a bit soft on the edges at f/5 but stunning on-axis views.

Make sure you buy 'observing' filters, not AP ones, I would also recommend Lumicon filters, available from the US, an OIII and a UHC would be useful.

That was probably the MC2 shop where I bought our first telescope. however, FLO, the forum sponsor must be closer to you in Exeter? Welcome to the forum BTW, good luck & clear skies!

Like Pete above, in the absence of S & T pocket atlas, my go-to is also the Cambridge Star Atlas, thoroughly recommended!

Hi Steve, have you considered Lumicon at all, I don't know the techy details but find my 2" version perfectly adequate.

Thanks so much for the help everyone.
I think I am going to save a bit and go for the SW 150p dob, definitely seems to tick all the boxes for me. Will probably be back asking for help on collimation the day it arrives (😫) but thank you for all the advice!
Cheers,
Sam
They usually arrive well collimated, so I should leave well alone until you have had chance to use it. A great scope BTW, good luck!
