  1. Anybody else watching live right now? http://spaceflightnow.com/falcon9/009/status.html
  2. Did you put the date in to the handset in the right format?
  3. The canon f/1.8 50mm is a great and cheap lens to get hold of with a performance that belies its cheap price - 2nd hand they can be picked up for around £50. Often referred to a the 'nifty fifty'
  4. This I too dislike with a passion. The good folks over in TV Land seem to think that as a population we have evolved into a species with the attention span of a goldfish. Not only do we get the 'spoilers' but on those godforsaken channels with 'ad breaks' we get the 'coming up after the break' reminders (to remind us of all the good stuff coming up in case we choose to switch over instead of putting the kettle on) and then once back we get the reminders of all the stuff we've already missed. Most of the watching in the Stellar household is now done with the benefit of it having been recorded on to the sky box so we can avoid such mind numbing televisual treats.
  5. Not good in the Midlands and more atmospheric rubbish on the way... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26844425
  6. I was just reading about this in Bracken's Deep Sky Imaging Primer the other day and yes, to cut a long story short (which you can also read about in the book) it is a signal/noise ratio thing.
  7. Doesn't look like a big event but I may be wrong: http://www.midlandsastronomy.com/ Maybe more answers on their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/events/356063644536804/
  8. No personal experience myself (yet) but a good friend of mine has stayed in some remote Welsh cottages found from this place and has a lovely time at each of them: http://www.underthethatch.co.uk/search/
  9. Sorry to hear about your loss and these times are often great reminders of how precious the little time we have on this planet of ours is. Gazing in to the depths of the universe gives us a lovely perspective on this and you have a great setup to help. Welcome back

  11. Nice work, how many 'sittings' for the 7 hours worth of capture?
  12. Cheers all, food for thought. These plastic boxes are those of the B&Q/Homebase type yes?
  13. Mine is currently in the cardboard box in the garage but as there is a bit of damp in there I'm thinking about a more solid container/case for it. If you store your C9.25 in something other than a cardboard box what do you use please? Cheers
