  1. I have owned a few scopes over the years. 8 and 10 SCT's and ED 120 and 150 mm refractors all very good instruments, but there is something about the 180mm MAK that i love, I believe if gives the best views, better than the 10" SCT that i had, more contrast and sharper images. I know they have the rep for being very slow to cool down, but I have mine in an observatory so no biggy there. Certainly would recommend one for visual observations, deep sky was good for me particularly like Orion nebula, picked out a lot of detail in the core. I have seen some amazing astro pics by them too , which isn't there strength according to many, as yet i haven't tried that, on the list of things to do. cheers Dennis
  2. A side question, is there a focuser available eg feathertouch or GSO that fits the ed150mm ?
