Got no problem who bought it. one of the best doublets out there. Worth the money.
-
I know it went to £331, i saw it as it gathered pace.
-
Someone is going to get a good deal.
-
It's very tempting. But something is telling me to let it go....
-
And there is still time to bid for it
-
There's one on fleabay I wought have bought if I did not have the C100ED already.
-
I'm thinking about buying one to pair with my 1100D. Just thinking about best way of coupling a LPR filter with the camera lens, any ideas ?

There's a good article here about collimating a newtonian by Nils Olof Carlin. http://web.telia.com/~u41105032/kolli/kolli.html -

Of course you can use a DSLR with it, the scope is optimised to be used for a DSLR, you'll be surprised what you can achieve with this scope and a DSLR coupled with a coma corrector.

The objectives in the C100ED and the C80ED are excellent for the price that you pay for them, maybe a slight overcorrection in the red, but the strehl values are high in these doublets compared to even some triplets which can be found in todays market costing twice the amount. I can live with the focuser being insulated with Teflon.
-
There's a thing for refractors, you always seem to go back to them. I suppose its simplicity and less faffing around.
-
Will it sit square On dodgy threads ?, that's another thought as well.
-
Some of the threads on the focuser tube section are threaded to a different size. So I am not satisfied that the moonlite will thread perfectly on the tube. No fault to moonlite, just a problem with the scope manufacturing. The agena kit already has the three pre drilled holes in the cnc machined adaptor. The only problem is trying to source one as AA don't sell them no more, looks like a job from Graham at Astrotec based in Suffolk.
-
I am pondering about buying a agena Astro focuser ring adaptor then coupling that with a moonlite focuser as I think this would be a better fitting with three screws, then a screw on configuration.

My black beauties, not often used but treasured. Now only if they had produced a C120ED ! That would have been worth having as well. Al.

Nice to see people still having an interest in this scope !

I think the stock focuser is very good, I had a 50mm extension tube on it the other day coupled with a CCD Camera to help the camera to get in focus. Neither a vibration or a sag under the weight... Al.
