      Atter dark (but with proper lights on), autumn leaves covering wet chalk in a gully. Front wheel slid under me, landed hard on a chalk edge. All happened very quickly.

      Thanks. Probably bruised ribs (diagnosed by a fellow rider who is a doctor).
