  1. I saw Dragon last night, only briefing as it was a short window, two more chances this evening before it returns. https://www.heavens-above.com/PassSummary.aspx?satid=49220&lat=51.59&lng=-0.78&loc=Unnamed&alt=0&tz=GMT
  2. I checked my FS alignment last night by using Jupiter (before aligning the scope via the handset).
  3. I used google earth to get the coordinates of my back garden. Otherwise; I use two star align for general viewing (2 stars at least 90 degrees apart) and solar system align if I am just looking at planets and the moon (eg like Jupiter and Saturn last night).
  4. Lovely view of Neowise through 10x binos at 2300 in South Bucks.

  5. The first commercial launch of Space X Falcon Heavy now Weds 10th April at 2335 BST.

  6. The Moon and Venus; beautiful crescent twins in the dawn skies this morning.

  7. A new moon so good conditions if the skies allow. Mars and Neptune will be separated by only 8 arcminutes so could make a colourful double in the eyepiece. Note: it may also be a good opportunity to look for Comet 46P/Wirtanen.
  8. Saturn visible just below the crescent moon NOW. 1655 Sunday 11th nov.

  9. Those are my main targets and I find my Mak is ideal for them, plus I like its portability which you imply as well. The 127 Mak is good for up to c200X, above that it needs very good conditions and most of my viewing is done at 100x or 125x. You will need a dew filter, you probably have the EPs and I use an external power supply source (do not rely on batteries for the motor).
  10. Superb onboard coverage during the Cygnus launch.

  11. Great views of Venus and Jupiter

  12. Venus, Jupiter and the Moon, all in a line.

  13. A long double Gallilean shadow transit today at 0201UT 0058 - 0434 Ganymede 0201 - 0418 Io
  14. Two double Galilean satellite shadow transits today: 1. 0006 - 0035UT (Ganymede and Io) 2. 1329 - 1354UT (Europa and Callisto)
  15. Only for those with an exceptional view of the Western Horizon. At about 1900UT / 2000BST a one day old Moon, Mars and Mercury group close together at dusk.
  16. Lovely evening view of Io's transit and the GRS

  17. New Horizons is due to begin “Approach 2” and “Better than Hubble” imagery of Pluto will appear within a few weeks.
  18. Patience rewards, was that a Delta Leonid as well ?

  19. Oh Rubbish, where did that cloud come from ?

  20. Will the sky clear by 1936 ?

Sky is clear ;) Moon, transits then GRS.

  21. Fingers crossed for Thursday; Rupes Recta, Shadow transits and Delta Leonids.

  22. Dawn is scheduled to reach the gravitational pull of Ceres on March 6th. When it goes into orbit, in April, it will become the first spacecraft to orbit two extraterrestrial objects. Resource: http://dawn.jpl.nasa.gov/
  23. Mars passes 0.3 deg Uranus at 1900UT. Both will be in the FOV through low mag EP. Venus is a good marker but this will be tough one from the UK as Mars and Uranus disappear below the western horizon soon after 1930.
  24. Venus and Mars visible in the EP :)
