Canon 1100d, sending it off to be astro modified. Software not sure yet. I think eqmod/ascom for the AstroEQ box and CDC, PHD, AstroTortilla. But not tried any of it yet!! im preparing myself with all the right kit and software first. Want to tighten up the mount gears as theres slack there too. Lots to learn! :P I see you got one from Quatermass and now selling. What CCD would you be planning on?.

I use APT and loooove it! Much cheaper than BYE also ;)
Regarding the CCD, i think most start with the 314L. I think you need to match the CCD to your scope and what you plan to image ect. They all have pros and cons, most of which i dont understand yet. Theres a great thread on here somewhere about it all though.

When it trys to solve it just goes on and on and on. Is it not only supposed to take a few seconds? I uninstalled it the other day because i want to start using it with my new scope. But when i installed it it said something about failing to download something. How do you add catalogs to it, do you know Martin?

Just set up the widefield rig in my new spot, i'm determined to re-capture the Blue Horsehead tonight, i hate my last version more each time i see it!

Managed a few hours on the Horsehead with 300 second subs which is great! It started to drop into a bit of light pollution towards the end though which i'm a bit worried about. And then trees stopped play. Got 40 minutes with the 50mm lens on the Scutum star cloud also which looks like ace data. Just about to load them onto my desktop for stacking!
